THOMAS WOOD

About me

Born in San Francisco into an artistic family, I drew and painted from an early age, inspired by parents Mireille and Philip Wood, grandfather Gottardo Piazzoni, great-uncle Maurice del Mué, and cousin Russell Chatham.

Earning a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and an M.A. in English from San Francisco State University, I taught in colleges in New York and California for several years. Other endeavors include photography, music and theater. In 1982, I decided to exhibit professionally as a painter. My artwork has helped support many nature-preservation organizations.

Studio visits may be arranged by appointment. If you would like to receive show announcements,  contact me with your postal address.

"My paintings are contemplations of nature, a source of wonder and beauty and meaning that I seek to explore and interpret and communicate to others."
