THOMAS WOOD

About me

Born in San Francisco into an artistic family, I drew and painted early on, benefiting from the ideas, and example, of my parents Mireille and Philip Wood, grandfather Gottardo Piazzoni, great-uncle Maurice del Mué, and cousin Russell Chatham.

Earning a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and an M.A. in English from San Francisco State University, I taught English in colleges in New York and California for several years. Other endeavors include photography, music and theater. In the eighties, I decided to pursue a professional career as an artist, and have since exhibited regularly, often in support of environmental organizations.
